Woke up in the middle of the night from some nightmare that was tormenting me. The nightmare took place in some vaguely haunted house, which is kind of the keynote theme for most of my nightmares. In this nightmare, some people that I don't really know were there in the house with me and they were all angry with me. Something woke me up, I think people talking outside, and as I segued from tortured sleep to groggy wakefulness I found myself thinking "Bunny where are you?" Bunny? What th-? But like this: Buuunnnn-ny! I wanted 'Bunny', man, I don't know what else to tell you. Anyway I got up, peed, went back to bed. Another thrilling episode.

This morning I went to the bank to deposit some checks I had been sitting on, then went to the library. I am still so happy that I finally got around to getting a library card. I had to return a couple things, and even though I still have books from last time, I couldn't resist checking out more "stuff". Here is this week's haul:

Falling Up the Stairs by James Lileks (his first novel, out of print and hard to find!)
Come Over, Come Over and It's So Magic by Lynda Barry (I am sure I've read one or both of these before, but what the heck)
A Storm of Wings by M. John Harrison (out of print)
From Beirut to Jerusalem by Thomas L. Friedman (I wanted to read Longitudes and Attitudes but it was out)
Blind Man's Bluff: The Untold Story of American Submarine Espionage by Sherry Sontag

I also checked out a DVD of the original 'Invasion of the Body Snatchers', which I am watching at the moment. I dunno why I feel the need to share all this information; I guess I am just excited at some of the books that I found, and the novelty of using a library again. I just wish I had more time to lounge and read. Well. To lounge and read things other than some computer screen. After the library I went by Acme and bought some paper towels.

It's really gorgeous outside here today. Plenty of trees are starting to bloom and it's sunny and mild. I bet this next week is going to be amazing out there. I should go for a walk, maybe even go read in the park.

The refund for my tax overpayment of last year finally arrived this afternoon, after I got back from my errands, so I guess I'll be going back to the bank tomorrow. Can't really complain about getting checks in the mail, even if I wish it had come a day or at least a couple hours sooner.

i love the library. i need to go more! it takes me forever to get through a book, though, so i usually just end up buying them.

I am concerned it will take me too long to finish this stuff, too. I guess I'll just renew some of it. In this modern age they will even let you renew online, so that is nice.

Before this I hadn't had a library card since 1995, which is sad considering I fancy myself such a bookworm.
