I am turning 50 the last day of this year, and Melissa really wants us to do something "big" for that. I keep telling her that we don't, and more recently that my getting surgery this year is the big thing. But she still thinks we need to do something cool and fun. Ideas have been kicked around but nothing has quite stuck.
There is West Baden Springs Hotel and Spa here in Indiana that seems like it could be cool. There is also the vague thought of going to somewhere in Central America to get away from the cold and snow for a bit. There is also this House of Eternal Return that on one hand sounds very cool, but on the other hand looks like it could bring on a panic attack. We're both intrigued by it but, do we want to go to Santa Fe for this? What else would we do there? How much would it cost?
We 'binge-watched' Queer Eye on Netflix recently. I never saw the original show. I enjoyed this one though - it seemed like a lot of it was about getting people to respect themselves more and practice some self love. I know I know it's reality TV so it's all kind of phony but, I still dug it and think the 'Fab 5' seem like nice guys.
Melissa is out at a meeting and I am currently watching Rogue One. I have tried to watch it before but never made it through; it just seems so negative and joyless. I feel like Star Wars should be fun. Despite that it is about Wars. But The Last Jedi kind of got me to lighten up and appreciate Star Wars again. For now. So I thought I'd give Rogue One another try. Also the lady that cuts my hair really likes Rogue One.
We are going to check out a fitness facility, kind of like a YMCA but run by a hospital, that is very near us. The reality is I am constitutionally a lazy lump but, I am hoping this place is a good fit for us so we can get a membership and start using it.
