spoiled up for you real nice

Wow, well, after a nutty time travel season that was so heavy with a sense of destiny, or predestination, or foregone conclusions that suspense felt non-existent at times, they managed to end things on a giant question mark. I really have no idea what to expect from season six now... other than, I'm kind of doubting Juliet truly hit a big reset switch on the past five seasons. Still, hmmm.

The big shock of course was that what we had thought for many episodes was a reborn John Locke was something else, something that has apparently been on the island for a very long time, and that was now taking a more active and prolonged role in directing events and the actions of others.

And as a flip side to that perhaps, the legendary Jacob was himself shown to be taking a surprisingly active role in events off the island over the past, what, I don't even know - 30 years? But there he was right before the most recent flight to the island, sharing a cab with Hurley and dispensing a guitar. What the hell. Not sure how to reconcile the Jacob we saw in those flashbacks, and toward the end of the episode, with the ghostly figure from the cabin. How do Claire and Christian figure into this I wonder?

It used to feel to me like Ben, or at least Richard, had some idea what was going on and a degree of control over the situation. Or maybe they at least had some plan. But now, after the past few episodes... it just seems like no one but maybe Jacob and his rival have any idea what they're doing.

Somehow after season four while I still liked the show, I wasn't thinking about it much. I was caught off guard when the first episode of this season aired - hadn't realized it was LOST time again. Right now I feel pretty eager to see 'what happens next', though. Do you think aliens will be involved? (I know, I ask that about everything.)

So they did finally get around to using the statue in the story, which I thought they never would. Will we see more of Walt? Oh and, Libby, I know we still have questions about her. Man I'm sure there are tons of other things that seemed intriguing or important back in season two or thereabouts that I no longer even recall, the directions this thing has gone. And how did the damn numbers lead to Hurley winning the lottery?
