my friend goo
So, a good friend of mine who I haven't seen in a couple years became a born again Christian about a year ago. This is a person who I had seen go through a lot of emotional turmoil, many ups and downs, and in and out of some bad life situations. I will say that the God thing seems to be working for her and making her happy, and I can't argue with that... I am delighted that she is not miserable, as she once was all too often. She is a great, caring person and of course I want her to be happy and fulfilled. She emailed me the other day and talked about how her new husband, who is a teacher of some sort, is going to be giving kids free courses on a "young earth" - meaning that the planet I like to call my home here is only about 6000 years old. She also refers to the "farce of evolution". I never quite get that point of view but maybe I am lacking information. Hmmm. She once emailed me and told me she had irrefutable (sp?) proof of God's existence, and I emailed her back and inoffensively requested her proof, and she just referred me to some website, which I am not gonna take a website for proof of anything. Websites are for pornography, news, comix, buying stuff online, screeds, rants and spiels and that's that. I don't like arguing with people though, and I am not an expert on evolution v. creationism and all that so I have to just let this stuff go, even if I am a skeptic of the "young earth".
Man my old cell phone, which is now Blake's cell phone, just rang in his cube and made me jump. I learned to hate that ring. Sad. Such a big baby...! But, then, it used to wake me up and otherwise menace me in the old days.
