Today. Very hard getting out of bed. Very sluggish all morning long, slow stupid brain, not too productive. Spent some time looking at our landlord's servers and chatting with Blake.

For lunch we went to Wegman's and ate there. I say it again, the lovely ladies like the 'higher end' grocery stores. I saw lots of pretty women there today. I used to notice this at Whole Foods in Chicago, as well.

After we ate we picked up a bunch of stuff to take back to the office, to use for our meals for the rest of the week. The good part of this plan is it is tasty food and it's overall cheaper and healthier than eating out (although still not necessarily cheap or healthy). The bad part of the plan is it means more time spent inside and even less breaks from the office and the computer. But overall it's OK and I am glad that we did it.

I am feeling better about managing the landlord's network for them. Honestly I do know that I can manage a network and deal with Internet connectivity, and administer all the standard domain name / hosting stuff... I am just concerned with their servers of mystery and the lack of any information. But, I think we can work it out.

Hmmm I thought I had something interesting to say but I just don't. I'll probably think of some dumb little thing as soon as I go to bed, which I am about to do. I was at the office from 9:30 today til 1 tonight, with that break for going to the grocery store in there. Our stupid weight lifting competition progresses. Dave is crushing us all. We have to think of a leg-related exercise for July, one that you can do at or near your desk. Cause you know heaven forbid we go outside for a walk. If you have any suggestions let me know. I mentioned thighmaster but no one would listen.

Yet another day where I felt pretty tired and out of it. I almost fell asleep in a design session this afternoon. I think I actually made a good point in that meeting, even though much of the discussion was over my head, but someone else repeated what I brought up so I didn't get any credit. And I need that credit!

I made some progress on various projects at work today, actually, but just didn't feel like I was all there. I probably left some semicoherent comments here too, but what else is new.

I went to the library tonight and scored the following: Pox Americana by Elizabeth A. Fenn, High and Mighty: SUVs - the World's Most Dangerous Vehicles and How They Got That Way by Keith Brandsher, The BFG and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory by Roald Dahl and a couple Joe Lansdale books. I used to be a big fan of Lansdale in the early 90s, when I was into 'horror fiction'... at one time I owned darn near everything he'd published, including that "Ray Slater" book. I don't think I have any of those books any longer; too bad, I wouldn't mind reading "The Drive-In" again. But I checked out Lansdale's latest mystery book and also a book called Zeppelins West that looks like a weird western, with some 'steampunk' touches. Should be fun. Oh and I checked out Glengarry Glen Ross on DVD, since that movie was on my mind not so long ago.

Here is the list of books I have on reserve with the library, and where I am in line waiting for the books:

Dereliction of duty : the eyewitness account of how Bill Clinton compromised America's national security by Robert Patterson - 1 of 5
Saying Yes: In Defense of Drug Use by Jacob Sullum - 2 of 2
Gulag: A History by Anne Applebaum - 2 of 2
A Feast for Crows by George R.R. Martin - 8 of 8
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix by J.K. Rowling - 201 of 203

That Harry Potter, man. He's hot stuff.

I feel like I could go to bed right now but I decided that I ought to do laundry. Tomorrow morning I am getting some blood drawn for a few tests, then I have to go see my doctor next Thursday. Nothing to be concerned about so far as I am aware, just routine.
