Early on The Cube made me think of a Twilight Zone episode, or one of Stephen King's "Night Shift" short stories (which I mean as a compliment although I realize not everyone would take it for one). I felt like it had an intriguing premise that was hard to follow up on in a fully satisfying way - do you answer all the questions that the viewer is going to have or not? But I did think that the set up was cool.
