very little news
Some striking fall colors in evidence outdoors today. Saw several blazin' orange trees while out driving around earlier. Very pretty.
I got one of the "old style" twenty dollar bills out of an ATM today. Hrmmm. Mike had one the other day and I commented to him it had been quite awhile since I had seen one; he agreed. Now I've seen two in the last 1-2 weeks. Someone needs to make up a conspiracy theory about why these ragged bills are turning up again, even if our experience was just some isolated coincidence.
The Time Machine remake (remake? another adaptation, anyway) was indeed very disappointing. I could probably agree with just about every unkind thing I saw written about it on imdb.com. Sexy Beast did hold my attention, more or less... with my weakness for bullies I of course found the Ben Kingsley character kind of riveting. Actually I liked the "performances" in general and thought the movie made good use of some fairly novel editing and even some oddball imagery.
I think I am gonna go take a walk now. Well. Soon, anyway.

Never heard of The Time Machine.

The Time Machine is the H.G. Wells story where a Victorian age inventor creates a machine that lets him travel in time. He goes like 800,000 years into the future where he learns that humanity has split into two distinct races, the dimwitted elfin layabout Eloi and the thuggish subterranean Morlocks. I guess it was kind of a presentiment of America under our current two-party political system....
