the face in the mirror said "chalupa!"

Let's see.... This morning I slept. Oh yes. This afternoon I played some online Scrabble, read a little dotty Libertarian science fiction, then rode Chopper for awhile while watching a few Brothers Quay movies. Really not sure what I make of these queasy little stop-n-go animation bits... they are worth seeing I think, and very spooky, but kinda disturbing, and frankly a little impenetrable. Or I find them to be so anyway. But I am glad to have seen them. Took me way too long to go 10 miles on el-Chopper, but then the tension was increased on it recently.

This afternoon I actually ran some errands. Picked up a few items at Target, then went into Wegman's. I will say it again, the higher-end the grocery store, the prettier the women one sees shopping there. And when I shop in Wegman's I think my name tag should read "Gawky". Anyway tried to score some Zone-friendly stuff. I still think we are not really nailing the optimal Zone diet at all... I need to spend more time with the book so that I can speak intelligently with Mike about it, I have just been going mostly on his interpretation to this point. I brought some fine sushi home with me from Wegmans and kinda gorged on that. In Christopia, you will eat fish every day.

This drought sucks. What the hell.

A couple links:

From responsibility to sustainability. "Simply put our planet doesn't have the resources for 6 billion people to live the way that Americans do." Well not with that attitude it doesn't. This article annoys me.

Some 'in-depth' reporting on the current turmoil in Zimbabwe from our friends at the BBC. I really can't decide what I make of this situation, other than that it's likely a tragedy all around, and there is going to be a lot of human suffering in that area in the near future.

aimdating.com Ahhh... I can't in good conscience laugh. I mean, considering.

An editorial by an expat lambasting the U.S. for, among other things, having the temerity to fly bombers outside the range of anti-aircraft guns. Gee if I have to go to war I want him for my general!
