One of the TV shows I have been 'DVR-ing' but almost never watching is Ghost Hunters, on the SciFi channel. This afternoon I was doing some work in my living room so I wound up putting the TV on and having Ghost Hunters play while I did other things. I did pay enough attention to this particular episode to get a little unnerved. The story involved a house where two little girls live, and one has 'fairies' waking her up in the middle of the night. She got sick and her dad for some reason decided to sleep in her bed, and he claims that when he did this, he was awakened in the middle of the night by voices asking him "Where's Grace?", and he went on to have a conversation with them. They then pulled the bedding down tight over him and laughed. I don't know about you but this kind of experience would completely change my outlook. The guy seemed to take it in stride though. Maybe he was making it up? I don't know what I would've done, if such a thing happened to me.
UPDATE. This story got under my skin enough that I searched for more info online and learned that there was an episode of this show called "A Haunting" that told the story also. As luck would have it, it was on today (3/4) so I got the DVR to tape it and watched it tonight. This show is even cheesier than the Ghost Hunter people, and it was hard to reconcile their version of events with the episode of Ghost Hunters. The "Haunting" version claimed a bunch of Wiccans came and got the ghosts to leave, but then the Ghost Hunters episode seemed to me like it probably happened after that. So, I dunno. But the Haunting thing, way more dramatized and meant to scare you and what not (ironically I find their special effects and storytelling style make these allegedly true stories way harder to swallow... well, downright unbelievable). It did give more background info on the house and the whole situation though.
