I am not the fine man you take me for
Jul. 2nd, 2006 10:03 pmMarvel Comics has put out a complete collection of Jack Kirby's 1970s "ancient astronauts" comic, The Eternals. Apparently the double-page spreads suffer from a tight, glued binding. Anyway you can see pictures of some of the crrrazy Kirby artwork here. I hope more of Kirby's 70s stuff is reprinted. There were others that were pretty wild-looking, as I recall. 2001 and Machine Man come to mind. Have I ever noted as much as I was fixated on Kirby's Fantastic Four (which I only saw as reprints, of course) as a kid, there was something about some of his drawings that really unnerved, almost scared me. I am specifically thinking of some stuff from Kamandi, and Sandman. This issue of Sandman specifically really creeped me out. DC should reprint that series for me, obviously.
I can hear fireworks booming off in the distance. The fireworks seemed to start up here last Wednesday night, around 11:30, and have been going on every night since. I'm assuming we'll get the climax Tuesday night. Got some loud ones tonight, so far.
Curse of the Black Sun.
