I like the rest of the list though:
1. Robin from Batman
2. Baldrick from Blackadder
3. Rodney from Del Boy
4. Gromit from Wallace and Gromit
5. Laurel from Laurel and Hardy
6. Ernie Wise Eric Morecambe
7. Dr Watson from Sherlock Holmes
8. Spock from Captain Kirk
9. Barney Rubble from Fred Flintstone
10. Sideshow Bob from Krusty the Clown
I don't know who about a third of those characters are, but I like the weird mix of foils, second bananas and straight men: Robin, Gromit, Watson, Spock, Barney, Sideshow Bob. Is Stan Laurel really a sidekick though?
