around the world
Oct. 8th, 2004 08:25 pmAngler snags first jumbo flying squid found in British Columbia. 'Flying' is a complete lie, but that's a relief for me since I am rather squid-phobic. I wonder if this is a fluke or a sign of things to come? Check out this part: "As Gudmundseth tried to extract hooks from the squid's beak and eye, the squid attacked with its tentacles, changing from bright red to brilliant white to brown to bright red again and back to brown in the struggle." That's right - a flying squid attack.
Bee Decline May Spell End of Some Fruits, Vegetables. Why is there a bee decline? Is this our fault? Can't we take a break from fucking things up?? Just for awhile. Hearing of all our misdeeds is just wearing me out.
Pope to theologists: think harder. 'Remember limbo, that place where the Catholic Church teaches that babies go if they die before being baptized because they do not deserve either heaven or hell? Pope John Paul showed on Thursday that he still muses about one of the more forgotten elements of Catholic theology commonly associated with medieval thinking. He asked theologians to think about it harder and come up with "a more coherent and enlightened way" of describing the fate of such innocents.' I never forgot limbo; I never completely understood where the concept came from, either, or what supported the idea of it. I remember coworker Dave (who is a devout Catholic) giving me some basis for it once but, I am still not getting it.
A picture of a ghost? It's a little weird.
Speaking of weird. LP candidate Michael Badnarik vows to crash tonight's debate. Shit. He's gonna get tasered. Tasered if he's lucky.
But hooray - Tom the Dancing Bug's Lucky Ducky wins again!
