squamous: (the plan)
I know this is a strange site to use to cite this but, it's what I found the other day with Google... I didn't realize John Kerry was such a supporter of stem cell research. I have to say Kerry is seeming better to me all the time for various reasons. To be honest part of it is the lesser of two evils argument, and part of it is realizing I am naive to expect some totally admirable hero to step up and have a serious shot at this national office. Actually I guess those are related points, or the same point. Bah.

Someday if I have the dough, I am thinking these Jim Woodring prints would look good somewhere in my hypothetical house. I like Dave Cooper's too. Anyway, it's the imaginary, highly speculative rich future. And I think I posted a link to these before.

X-Prize 'will be won this year'.

22 new episodes of Family Guy for Adult Swim.

The Problem With Superman. For all that I can knock or deride 'mainstream' comics (while somehow liking some of the stuff from decades ago...), it is pretty amazing how much mileage they have gotten out of Superman, Batman, and a few others. I have thought before this kind of unending story is almost unique, this serial form that is designed to just never come to any conclusion. Maybe it's a unique American contribution like people argue for jazz, blues, comic strips/books and musicals, but I wouldn't know. Also I do for some reason note this is in Time magazine which I believe is owned by the company that owns Superman. Kind of amusing that the article seems written to promote interest in a couple of the current titles.

The Economist says Rumsfeld should resign. I like the first paragraph there. They also mention our good friends Brood X.
