Feb. 3rd, 2004 09:05 pmI caught most of Nova's Dogs episode tonight. Pretty interesting. I thought maybe it was part of a series of shows but I guess not. Too bad.
Two guys recently walked to the South Pole, one of them 63 years old. Maybe I should do that someday.
Spooks turn to hi-tech geography. 'Imagine being able to pinpoint someone's location anywhere in the world simply by typing a few keywords on your PC. That is what software partly funded by the US military is trying to do.'

'Pakistan's top nuclear scientist, Abdul Qadeer Khan, has told investigators that he helped North Korea design and equip facilities for making weapons-grade uranium with the knowledge of senior military commanders, including Gen. Pervez Musharraf, Pakistan's president, according to a friend of Khan's and a senior Pakistani investigator.'
