Another bum mission to Mars. Stupid Beagle 2. I was so hoping to hear it was surrounded by Martians on Christmas Day, after touchdown. Farfetched, yes, but I wanted Martians. But we got nothing. Hopefully the U.S. landers in January will survive. On a related note, here's a very long rundown on what might have happened to NASA's Mars Polar Lander.
Florida Gets Nation's 1st Faith-Based Prison. Hmmm. 'Nearly 800 inmates from 26 faiths attended the dedication ceremony of what Gov. Jeb Bush called the nation's first faith-based prison -- a facility focused on encouraging the spirituality of inmates of all faiths. Along with regular prayer sessions, the Lawtey Correctional Institution will offer religious studies, choir practice, religious counseling and other spiritual activities seven days a week. Participation is voluntary and inmates are free to transfer out.'
Someone paid $1.3 million for the domain name men.com. Gah? Buh. I still think domain name speculation is for suckers.
Here's an odd thing. Someone documented the strange messages that a neighbor of theirs started hanging on a fence. They suspect the neighbor was mentally ill. I dunno but, join me in gawking at the works of Tammy, if you will.
Also possibly crazy and definitely deeply sad: Notorious e-mail scam snares Volusia retiree's nest egg. Unbelievable but true, a retired 'electronics specialist' somehow manages to lose over $300,000 to one of those infamous Nigerian 419 scams. Ow.
A tiny bit of analysis of the Hampton Court ghost images is here, with a link to a 'video enhancement' that shows all of the images.
More on the Voynich manuscript.
