all hepped up

Took the taxes to the post office tonight around 7:30. This is a new one for me, waiting this late to file. Usually I get mine done in February or March. Had to wait this year on the company taxes, as it's a partnership, and I am one of the partners. Mike did all the tax work, which was great of him. Mike has many uses. I wish that I were more useful. Not sure where I went wrong. Oh well. Taxes do stress me out, anyway.

I also voted in an election for the local schools tonight. Then when I got back home I realized I would have to run out to pick up some laundry detergent, since I had resolved this would be laundry night. I drove by the post office again on my way to the Acme supermarket, and this time there was quite a line of cars there, backed up out of the post office parking lot. Glad I missed the rush.

I have become convinced our tax system completely sucks, by the way.

I haven't talked to my mom in a long time. It is kind of ridiculous, even if I never do have anything to say. I am resolved to actually do something nice for her on Mother's Day this year, to see if it's possible to break the ice, I guess. Now I just have to think of something nice to do, and make absolutely sure to remember to do it.
