Feb. 23rd, 2003 01:36 pmSo much of the snow was washed away so quickly that it's already hard to remember what it looked like. This morning there was some fog. I ran an errand without taking a shower first, something I almost never do.
I have been trying to do laundry since around 10 this morning. Predictably, everyone wants to do laundry today. Every time I go check the laundry facilities in the basement here, they are all in use. The fiends who designed the machines down there neglected to put any sort of timers on them. It's insidious. You can't tell if the loads currently in the dryers will be there for 5 or 50 more minutes. A cruel, cruel dilemma. Do you see how I suffer?
The Grammys are on tonight. These are awards where I don't even have an opinion. I don't listen to music on the radio, haven't for years. Sometimes I haven't heard the hits at all. I'll probably have the show on to try and take in the shenanigans in passing, though. I saw headline about concerns of the show being used as a platform for "anti-war" sentiments. Where the sensationalism goes, I go too.
Jan Lamprecht is going to be the guest on Coast to Coast tonight. I'll probably try to listen to some of that tomorrow. I am curious to see if anyone will call him on his racist views, or just give him a hard time over his hollow planets theory.
I was reading a message board yesterday and came across a link to pictures of these hideous and disturbing "Twisted Land of Oz" 'toys'. It's not like I have a hard on for the sanctity of Oz stuff, but these things are grotesque. It would almost be more freaky if they were actual toys one could play with, instead of little molded plastic statues with no 'articulation' to speak of. But to each his own. I will stick with my glow in the dark Famous Ghosts toys. Got Lincoln and Poe on my desk right here. Please note that Poe has a little raven on his shoulder, and the raven glows too.
